The Perfect Husband’s the first book in the Sydney Harbour Hospital Series by Chris Taylor. Isobel Donnelly was living in an abusive relationship and thought she had nowhere to turn for help due to the way her husband made her isolated from friends and family. That was until Dr Mason Alexander started a new job at Sydney Harbour Hospital and guessed what on the same ward as Isobel Donnelly. At first, Dr Mason Alexander thought, like everyone else, that Isobel was happy and content with her marriage, until one day, he saw bruises on her wrist. The readers of Perfect Husband will continue to follow Isobel Donnelly and Dr Mason Alexander to find out what happens.
At first, I thought I would not like to read the Perfect Husband because I loved the Munroe Family Series. However, after reading the first Chapter, I fell in love with the characters and the story of The Perfect Husband. All female readers will fall in love with Dr Mason Alexander like I did and wish he was your perfect husband. I love Chris Taylor’s portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. The Perfect Husband is well written and researched by Chris Taylor. I like Chris Taylor’s description of the settings of The Perfect Husband, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book plot.
Chris Taylor (Author) did a lovely job of portraiting the plight of women who suffered domestic violence in the Perfect Husband. Perfect Husband allowed me to bring up lousy childhood memoirs, and I wished Mum had found someone like Dr Mason Alexander to love and support her. Readers of Perfect Husband will learn about the problems and consequences of domestic violence to the family and the community.
I recommend this book.
