Red Ember Storm is the sequence to Snowy Ridge by Peter McKelvie. Jack Sutherlands needed help with the work involved in running three properties, so he asked his younger cousin George to come and help. However, things were not working out the way George or Jack thought they would. The arrival of Maggie Jones to help Rosie did not bring George to his breaking point. The readers of Red Ember Storm will continue to follow George and Maggie to find out what happens.
I found Peter McKelvie’s books by accident and am so happy that I did; his books are so enjoyable. Before I open the first page, I know I will engage with the plot and characters of Peter McKelvie’s books. Red Ember Storm did not disappoint, and it did continue my love affair with his books. I love Peter McKelvie’s portrayal of his characters and how they interact with each other throughout this book. Red Ember Storm is well written and researched by Peter McKelvie. I like Peter McKelvie’s description of the settings of Red Ember Storm allows me to imagine being part of the book’s plot.
The readers of Red Ember Storm will learn about other consequences of men participating in war and the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder on everyone around them. Also, the readers of Red Ember Storm will understand the issues involved when drink and jealousy are engaged in their reaction to events happening around them.
I recommend this book.
